Heroes of the Week: Elliott and Harley

Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Hero of the Week… Find out how you can nominate a Hero of the Week at the bottom of the page.

In London, England, four-year-old Elliott is undergoing treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. His three-year treatment plan, which ends in March, has given him firsthand experience of what it’s like to spend the holidays confined to a hospital room.

Wanting to bring joy to other kids in similar situations, Elliott and his mom, Harley, began collecting Advent calendars and toys to distribute to children at the three hospitals where Elliot receives care. They even created an Amazon wish list for the community to contribute.

The response was overwhelming, with enough donations to deliver over 400 bags of toys to hospitalized children. Elliott’s mom shared how much a simple gift would’ve meant to him during his stay, and they’re thrilled to spread some holiday cheer.

As for Elliott, he’s staying strong and feeling great. He’s even joined a soccer team for the first time as he nears the end of his treatment.

Kix’s Response:

Elliott, I can’t think of a better, more inspiring hero story this Christmas… at just four years old, you’re already doing so much good in this world. I’m happy to make you and your mom our ACC Heroes!
